It ruined the romance aspect for me a little bit, I just wanted him to go back to being the Peeta I knew and loved, haha! And I'm sure Katniss did too.

It actually isn't that much, it only costs you like an extra few pounds. I was at an expensive cinema and I got VIP seating, which is more money and it was less than £15. I thought that was a good deal, seeing as I was in the cinema for 8 hours. Of course nothing can compare to Catching Fire, but I loved the conclusion the the trilogy.
I also just reread it in preparation for the movie. I had thought this was my 3rd time reading it, but after finishing it I think it was only my first reread. Anyhow, it's funny how much my opinions change over 4 years later. I still love the book. Still a 5* read for me. But I think I picked up things differently this time around. I agree that the conclusion when Katniss gets knocked out and misses everything is very anti-climatic. I also don't remember hating Gale as much as I did this time around. I was never a massive fan of him but holy crap did I hate everything he stood for in Mockingjay. What a selfish ass.
Anyhow, now I'm off to read your review of the movie. Hope you loved it. :)
Happy reading!
Brittany @ This is the Story of My(Reading) Life BrittanyLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10645210938042967995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583004298603696672.post-47563935942687589602014-11-23T08:08:09.143+00:002014-11-23T08:08:09.143+00:00Ah, yes. I've heard good things about the movie though. I'm sorry Mockingjay disappointed you, but glad it wasn't a horrible read. I loved reading your thoughts on this one and I hope your next read is much better, Charnell. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583004298603696672.post-40538721523726225322014-11-22T21:22:06.984+00:002014-11-22T21:22:06.984+00:00I read THG trilogy once and I don't think I ca...I read THG trilogy once and I don't think I can read it again. I thought Mockingjay was very sad, and nowhere near as dynamic as Catching Fire. It was still a good book, though. I wouldn't have called it a 'let down' but... words to that effect, I guess.
^^ To echo Manisha, I also hated what happened to Peeta in the last book, it was so awful. Good plot twist though.

Also... the cinema did a TRIPLE BILL?! What the heck! I didn't know that existed. How much did that even cost you? =DAshana Lianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05710938893525557551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583004298603696672.post-59731860647140702172014-11-20T18:13:55.746+00:002014-11-20T18:13:55.746+00:00I know, rereading it made me realise just how disa...I know, rereading it made me realise just how disappointing it was. I liked Gale in book one, and I would sometimes still kind of root for him at times. But I mostly just felt bad for him. He was nice, but I didn't want him for Katniss. Peeta was my favorite character and I hated what happened to him in the last book. The plot was boring. The ending in my opinion could have been done more smoothly.
As for the movies, movie 2 is definitely better than one. I'm curious to see how three turns out. :DManishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11857511512553871277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583004298603696672.post-71939541190099575272014-11-19T22:19:07.013+00:002014-11-19T22:19:07.013+00:00I am one of those people who generally thought the...I am one of those people who generally thought the Hunger Games series was okay and really didn't like Mockingjay. It was like the Allegiant to Divergent. All the action was pretty much over or happening where the main character wasn't, and I was left feeling very underwhelmed. At the end I couldn't even be happy because I am #TeamGale! :P It just left me... I dunno, annoyed and wanting more? But the movie to the first part definitely does sound like it is done better than the book.Olivia's Catastrophehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12706765857201768908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2583004298603696672.post-45417928082206225972014-11-19T18:58:19.808+00:002014-11-19T18:58:19.808+00:00I didn't enjoy this one at all which was a sha...I didn't enjoy this one at all which was a shame because Catching Fire was amazing. I found it really boring and why do my favourite characters always die?!
Hopefully the films are good.
