My Favourite OTPs

It's almost Valentine's day, so that means it is the perfect time to get all giddy about my favourite OTPs in fiction and beyond! I definitely have a shipper heart, I do love to get behind a couple and root for them all the way. But, there are definitely those select few who just completely steal my heart and soul - And I will ship forever and ever and ever.

Hermione & Ron

This should come as no surprise to anyone who has been following me for a while. I have a HP obsession that is hard to truly explain. My love for that series is endless! And Hermione and Ron will forever be my number one OTP. I just adore those two together, they're just too cute! And I love that they start out disliking each other, become the best of friends and then fall in love. 

Weekly Recap: An Awesome Week for Book Mail!

I'm actually super proud of myself right now, I am still going strong with this being back at blogging business! GO ME! This has been a struggle for me in the past as I kept getting in to huge blogging slumps, but I am really loving it right now and finding time to do it on top of everything else. This week has been a brilliant mail week, mostly because pay day happened and I bought a bunch of books for myself.

I also had the most amazing email and book mail from Hodder! They sent out a few advanced copies of Morning Star by Pierce Brown and I got one. Not only that, they also sent out invites to an exlusive party at their offices for Pierce.... AND I GOT ONE! Most of you won't even realise how much I freaked out at this. I can't even describe how bloody giddy I got. I am soooo excited. Red Rising is one of my favourite series and I am so excited to finish it. I am also excited/super nervous to meet Pierce Brown.

I want to start my review by saying that I did thoroughly enjoy this book. It won the vote on what I should read next, and so many of you were recommending it. I am so glad that you did, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm just going to admit it right now that it isn't a 5/5 read for me, like it was for so many of you. There are just a few things that bugged me when I was reading that stopped it from becoming a perfect read for me. There was just one small aspect of the story that wasn't explained properly, it made it feel like a really huge plot hole. Plot holes grate on me so much when I am reading, I really obsess over them and that takes away from my enjoyment of the book. Hopefully this part will be explained in greater detail in part two, so that it will make more sense to me.

Ancient Egypt 

I think my love for Ancient Egypt comes from two separate things. My childhood love of the movie The Prince of Egypt, followed by my love of the Mummy movies. I would love to read more young adult fiction set in Ancient Egypt. If you have any suggestions, I would love them!

There was a small part of me that was tempted to not write a review for Illuminae - it's probably why it has finally taken me this long to get to it. I wasn't going to write it for the simple fact that it is just going to be another glowing review in a sea of literally thousands. This book is getting praise heaped upon it and it is deserving of it all. This is one of those books that I would happily call a cool read, just because it has such a unique style to it. The book actually saw me miss a whole night of sleep - no, I'm not kidding! - because I started it just before bed. BIG MISTAKE! I had to go 48 hours with sleep because of that but it was totally worth it.

The universe owes you nothing, Kady. It has already given you everything, after all. It was here long before you, and it will go on long after you. The only way it will remember you is to do something worth remembrance.
