My Weekly Book Haul #8

STSmall
Friday Finds is something that was started over on ShouldBeReading and Stacking the Shelves over at TyngaReviews, I am in love with all of these as I love finding other blogs to follow and books to read through these! So check them all out and see what you find, Stacking the Shelves has a lot of participants as well which is great. This is basically a way for me to show what books I have received, borrowed or bought each week.

Hello!

This week I finally got my head around Edelweiss, which was not good! Especially since a lot of great titles; including all Harper Teen, were downloadable without having to request them. This means that I had to download them all, I can't help myself! So my haul this week is rather large. I went on relief to another library, which is never good, They're stock will be different and I'll end up borrowing way too many; which is exactly what happened this time. So apologies, if this seems ridiculously large this week.

For all the books I got this week, whether physical or digital, I shall include a cover photo and plot description. Plot description will either come from the back of book for physical, or Goodreads if not.

The Physical!

The plane crash changes all that.

Now more than anything, she wants to live.

A. G. Howard

Alyssa Gardner hears the thoughts of plants and animals. She hides her delusions for now, but she knows her fate: she will end up like her mother, in an institution. Madness has run in her family ever since her great-great-great-grandmother Alice Liddell told Lewis Carroll her strange dreams, inspiring his classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
But perhaps she's not mad. And perhaps Caroll's stories aren't as whimsical as they first seem.
To break the curse of insanity, Alyssa must go down the rabbit hole and right the wrongs of Wonderland, a place full of strange beings with dark agendas. Alyssa brings her real-world crush - the protective Jeb- with her, but once her journey begins, she's torn between his solidity and the chanting, dangerous magic of Morpheus, her guide to Wonderland.
But no one in Wonderland is what they seem to be- not ever Alyssa herself...

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)
Half-Blood
by
Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-- well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options, become trained sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting then waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Incarceron (Incarceron, #1)
Incarceron
by
Catherine Fisher

Incarceron -- a futuristic prison, sealed from view, where the descendants of the original prisoners live in a dark world torn by rivalry and savagery. It is a terrifying mix of high technology -- a living building which pervades the novel as an ever-watchful, ever-vengeful character, and typical medieval torture chamber -- chains, great halls, dungeons. A young prisoner, Finn, has haunting visions of an earlier life, and cannot believe her was born here and has always been here. In the outer world, Claudia, daughter of the Warden of Incarceron, is trapped in her own form of prison -- a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like a past era and an imminent marriage she dreads. She knows nothing of Incarceron, except that it exists. But there comes a moment when Finn, inside Incarceron, and Claudia, outside, simultaneously find a device -- a crystal key, through which they can talk to each other. And so the plan for Finn's escape is born.

Exile
by
Kevin Emerson

Catherine Summer Carlson knows how to manage bands like a professional- she's a student at the PopArts Academy at Mount Hope Hight, where rock legends Allegiance to North got their start. Summer knows that falling for the lead singer of her latest bands is the least professional thing a manager can do. But Caleb Daniels isn't an ordinary band boy- he's hot, dreamy, sweet-singing, exiled-from-his-old-band, possibly-with-a-deep-dark-side band boy. And he can do that thing. That thing when someone sings a song and it inhabits you, possesses you, and moves you like a marionette to its will.
Summer also finds herself at the centre of a mystery she never saw coming. When Caleb reveals a secret about his long-lost father, one band's past becomes another's present, and Summer finds it harder and harder to be both band manager and girlfriend. She knows what the well-mannered Catherine side of her would do, but she also knows what her heart is telling her. Maybe it's time to accept who she really is, even if it means becoming an exile herself.

  24. A lot of good books here. Survive is a really good book, but it's different. I cried so hard reading it just because it deals with very raw emotions. And you're going to read The Hunt! Great haul!

    Thanks for visiting my haul.

    1. I know, it's hard to say no when they are free. So many seem to let me download without requesting, but I thought they would let you know if you had auto-approval! I hope so! =D

  33. AWESOME! You got lots of books! Even Panic!!! Woot! I wish I could too! So jealous! >.< The Hunt is great, you should read it! :) Oh yes, I asked you if you would like to join our ARC Challenge to reduce the number of your ARCs given by Netgalley/Edelweiss/ARCs from author or publishers. ;) It would help if you could stop by. Thank you! And I'm a new follower. :D

  34. Wow, what an amazing haul! I know Edelweiss is dangerous. I guess anyone can download all their titles now? What's up with that? Oh well, it's good for us, I guess! Enjoy your books, and thanks for visiting Books, Bones & Buffy!

  35. Isn't Edelweiss the best and the worst? It's so fun to request and get books, but then you realized you have altogether too many. :) It looks like you had a good week, though! I didn't realize HarperTeen's titles were all for download... That's kind of odd. But awesome! Happy reading!
