Top Ten Tuesday: New Series I Want To Start

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted at The Broke & The Bookish. Each week they host a different top ten topic.

This weeks topic is:

Top New Series I Want To Start

These are all series that started in 2013/14 or will start next year. I am pretty behind on series, which is why a lot of these already have sequels out or planned sequels. A Court of Thorns and Roses is the series I am the most excited for! It's written by Sarah J. Maas and I really don't need to know anything else about it to know that I want to read it. Snow Like Ashes is one I have been getting more and more excited for, have been seeing so many amazing reviews for it. Steelheart is one a guy at work recommends to me all of the time, so I feel I should finally cave and read that one. I own quite a lot of these, so I should really hurry myself up and get to them.

In my blogoversary post I posted my giveaway to celebrate 1 year of blogging. I am giving one winner the chance to win up to £40 worth of books of their choice from Book Depository. I am also giving one runner up a book of their choice, worth up to £10 from Book Depository.

  2. The 5th Wave, we should buddy read it! I have it out the library, lets get on that ASAP. The Archived, I hear fantastic things, just to try some work by her would be fantastic. Snow Like Ashes is appaz a less fab version of ToG so don't be too hard on it, be nice ;) Great choices! I probably should have done one this week, BUT NOPE, review instead, damn me..

I am dying to read Snow Like Ashes, I keep hearing amazing things and am very excited for that - it's going on my Christmas list for James.

I didn't put A Court of Thorns and Roses on my list...namely because it isn't out yet...
    The same with Talon.

And I have owned The 5th Wave since April and I STILL HAVEN'T READ IT!! I am so disappointed in myself.
    I even own the sequel.

  7. SNOW LIKE ASHES, SNOW LIKE ASHES *chanting, chanting, chanting* I'm super excited for you to start that one. Wow, I think I get really passionate about it :P

I'm actually due to start The Madman's Daughter as well, especially considering how the last book is about to be out and all. I can't wait for Red Queen because I can never resist a bit of high fantasy and NEW MAAS! I'm super excited for that and I love a good fairytale retelling! Fantastic choices!

And beside, how could anyone go past that gorgeous cover?? ;) I've seen Red Queen on a few lists this week actually, and I can see why. Apart from having a really awesome cover, the story sounds fantastic. I can't wait until that one's out! :)

  21. You've got a bunch of fantastic series there!
I recently read The Madman's Daughter and loved it. I highly suggest going to audio route. Best audio I've ever listened to.
Half Bad was so different than what I was expecting. But not in a bad way. It was really well done.
I strongly disliked The 5th Wave. So much wrong with it. And so boring. I know I'm the black sheep there.
I also own, Snow Like Ashes, Steelheart, The Archived and Talon. So super excited for getting to them at some point.
I'm also beyond excited for The Red Queen. How brilliant does it sound.
And Sarah J Maas. Just give me all her future books now. I will love and love them.
    Happy reading!

  37. I had the chance to early review Snow Like Ashes, and I was so excited to get to it, but I never made the time. Now, I'm kicking myself! :( While I didn't include SLA on my list today, I am hoping to start this series sometime in the future. Hopefully by the end of this year, if not early next year, for sure. As you know, The 5th wave is one we have in common, so I hope we both end up enjoying it whenever we get to it. Ohhh, and The Archived. I've had that one on my TBR for the longest time too, but I've never made it a priority for some reason. I need to fix that!

  74. Ooh, I love how you arranged the book covers in this post! So cool! :D

I'm kind of ashamed to say that I've only read one book on your list -- The Murder Complex. As much as I liked the idea behind the story, the book really fell flat for me. The characters were bland and annoying, the story not properly developed, the romance rushed, and the writing... ugh, the writing was so choppy and filled with weird descriptions. I know a couple of people who really liked it, though, so maybe I was just being overly picky with it. If you do give it a try, I hope you have better luck with it than I did!

Heh, I've been seeing The 5th Wave everywhere, too. It's one book I'm really excited for, since the hype for it has been INSANE. And yes for The Madman's Daughter! It sounds so deliciously creepy, and the cover is gorgeous, too. Love it.

    1. I am hoping I can at least get to some of them before the new year, some are on my Christmas wishlist so I hope to get them soon.

  82. Out of all of these, I have only read Half Bad! but it was amazing, I hope you get to read it soon! I really want to read some books by Brandon Sanderson and Julie Kagawa - have you read any of their other books? Snow Like Ashes and The Archived also sound fantastic :-). I haven't heard of The Madman's Daughter, so I'll check that one out.

    P.s - I love the book pyramid :-)

    1. I have read nothing by either of them, so I am nervous to try them. Brandon Sanderson is someone I have wanted to try for ages, I hear amazing things about his books.

  84. I've got Half Bad sitting on my shelves and yet I didn't include it in my TTT - I totally forgot about it! Also, I'm super pumped for A Court of Thorns and Roses - I started Throne of Glass last month and I'm now officially a Sarah J. Maas convert!

  86. Great post! I actually recognised a lot of the books. WOAH I hadn't realised Half Wild was out already?!!! So soon!! I really liked Half Bad (left a link if you're interested, beware spoilers.) But I dont want to actually read Half Wild because I feel the book should have stayed as a non-series.

What I want to read the most is Steelheart. Can't WAIT to get to that. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I will avoid it because spoilers are a big no no for me if I plan to read a book! I will come find it after I have finished it. It isn't out yet, I was just posting the sequel covers because they are all due out in the next few months or so.
