Hamilton Book Tag: Music & Books Collide

I might be slightly obsessed with the Hamilton album - and by slightly, I mean that it is ALL I listen to at the moment. I can't help myself, it is so good. If you are one of the people who don't know what Hamilton is, it's a musical about the founding father Alexander Hamilton, which is currently showing on Broadway. The album, which is incredible, just won a grammy - that it completely deserves. If I could afford to travel from London to New York, I would go just to watch that show. Luckily, rumour has it we will be getting it on the West End next year. I WILL BE GOING! The music is incredible, it's all Hip Hop and Rap, and amazing. You can get the whole album on Spotify, so go, do!

So, of course, I was beyond thrilled to find that there has already been a Hamilton book tag created by Maureen. Here you have it guys, the Hamilton book tag!

1. The Room Where It Happens
I wanna be in the room where it happens
A book world you would put yourself in:

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!!
Come on, was there ever going to be any other answer than that one from me. NOPE! Take me to Hogwarts!

Welcome to the NEW Reviews from a Bookworm: Celebrations, A Tag & Giveaway!!!

Welcome!

I can't begin to express my excitement to finally unveil the new look for Reviews from a Bookworm! I hope you guys love it as much as I do, I honestly couldn't be happier with with it. The new design is all thanks to Evie, over at Evie's Bookish Designs - the woman is clearly a genius. I've wanted a new look for  Reviews from a Bookworm for so long, I just don't really have the skill or knowledge to do it myself. I definitely did the best I could with what I knew, that just happened to be very little. So I knew if I was going to get a design I was truly happy with, I would need to find someone else.

That's where Evie comes in! Amanda over at Nellie and Co. was the person who suggested her and thought she'd be a good person to work with and Amanda was right. She asked so many questions and managed to coax out of me what I wanted, because when I started the design I still had absolutely no idea what I truly wanted. But, I shouldn't have worried, Evie had a better idea than I had myself and seemed to know exactly what I wanted, even when I didn't.

The Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

The Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

Thank you to Brittany for tagging me for this!

1. A popular book or series that you didn't like.

There are so many books that, even though they have amazingly high ratings on Goodreads, I did not like them at all.

I know, I know! Some of these are books you probably love, but I hope at least some of you will agree with me on some of them. Code Name Verity just didn't work for me at all, it didn't even make me cry and I weep so easily at books. It just really bored me and I was so disappointed. Fangirl is a book that it really feels like every single human on the planet absolutely loves, but not me! I just really didn't get what all the fuss was about. The romance was laughable and the story was really dull because there really wasn't one. Beautiful Disaster is most definitely a disaster, but there is nothing beautiful about it! The Maze Runner was poorly written and made me so frustrated. And Fifty Shades of Grey.... I shudder just thinking about it - it's poorly written, had terrible characters and the worst excuse for a romance ever.

Could someone please explain to me how The Kiss of Deception has such a high rating on Goodreads? I mean, seriously, it's one of the worst books I have ever had the displeasure of reading. The characters are just meh, the romance was soooooo dumb and the whole guess which guys which storyline was superbly pointless. Red Queen seemed to impress so many people, but it read like a copy of so many other YA books. I don't hate Allegiant because of it's ending, I was actually happy it finally brought an end to Tris's constant whining and poor decision making. I posted both a spoiler free, rant filled review and a spoiler filled, rant filled review just so I could properly vent all my frustrations with this book.. How I Live Now was not good, not good at all. I read it so long ago and I still get pissed off every time I think about it. Ruby Red is loved by so many, but I just felt nothing when I read it, I didn't hate it but I just didn't like it.

2. A book or series that everyone seems to hate but you loved.

I don't know why but, I really struggled to come up with an idea for this one. But then I checked out my 5 star books on Goodreads and saw that Blue Diary has a relatively low average rating. And I don't understand why! I absolutely loved that book, it was a beautiful and wonderful book and it broke my fucking heart. I cried so much at the end of that book, my heart couldn't handle it. I will love and recommend that book forever!

I Finally Come Back, Do A Disney Book Tag, Hold A Giveaway... YAY!

I feel like today is a great day for many reasons. The first is the fact that I am finally BACK after taking a rather long break from blogging. I did not do any of what I had hoped to do during that time, but the break was well needed and for the best. I didn't schedule any posts though, I literally didn't go near my blog or any others for almost a whole month. But I am back and am going to try my hardest to get back into the swing of things. I'm not in a full time job as a manager, so I have a lot less time on my hands. But I'm going to try and post consistently, even if I am posting less.

The second reason that today is a great day is the fact that this post manages to combine two of my all time favourite things - Disney and books. If you didn't know already, and you really should, Disney plus books is one winning combination. If you feel like adding some Disney joy to your own day then feel free to consider yourself tagged for this!

The final reasons are the fact that I will be announcing a giveaway at the end of this blog post, and who doesn't love a good giveaway. And I also managed to make my post title rhyme and that is something that should be celebrated. Woop, woop!

Disney Princess Tag

This tag originated over on YouTube and was created by TurtleSympathy

Anna and Elsa
A book involving siblings.

What's hard about this tag is the fact that there are so many different books I could use for each question, so narrowing it down to one is going to be hard. For the siblings tag I am going to go with Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma, which has a rather unique sibling relationship in it... to put it mildly. But I'm also picking Half Bad/Wild by Sally Green because it has some complex, beautiful sibling relationships in it. And I'm obsessed with the series.
Rapunzel
A book that made you emotional.

I am going to pick The Game of Love and Death by Martha Brockenbrough, which is a book I will be reviewing and gushing about on the blog very soon. It was AMAZING! It was beautiful, hopeful, emotional and everything I was looking for. A book that has both Love and Death in it as characters, what more could I want. Oh wait, maybe a wonderful love story, spectacular writing as well as a ton of diversity packed into one little book. Read it, you won't be disappointed.
