Time for a book tag! WOOOOOOOO! |
I absolutely love doing book tags, so today I am going to be doing the Taylor Swift book tag. I remember watching Christina do this over at Polandbananasbooks and thought it seemed like a fun tag to do. So let's do this!
A book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then you wanted to break up with.
This has to be the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. I read Divergent and really enjoyed it, I had such high hopes for the series. But Insurgent just wasn't anywhere near as good and disappointed me. I was hoping Allegiant might be able to rescue the series, but turned out to be one of the worst books I've ever had the displeasure of reading.
2. Red
Pick a book with a RED cover.
I did this over on my Instagram with a few different books. I absolutely love the cover for The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater.
Pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.
I'm going to be a good girl and not answer Harry Potter for this question! I'm going to go with The Sight by David Clement-Davies. It's a book I first read when I was probably 10 or 11. I can still remember finding that book whilst in a bookshop with my family. They were hunting for college books for my sister, so I sat in a corner and just read and read. Thankfully my parents bought it for me so I could finish it, and I happily reread that now.
Pick a book with forbidden love.
This is going to have to be Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma. You don't get much more forbidden than a brother and sister falling in love. Sounds like a weird storyline for a book, but it's one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful books I've read.
5. I Knew You Were Trouble
Pick a book with a bad character you couldn't help but love.
This is a tough one because I'm usually not won over by evil characters.... ever! Like some people loved the Darkling from Shadow and Bone, but I just wanted him to hurry up and die. I think I'd probably go for Voldemort, because he was such a brilliant baddie.
6. Innocent
Pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.
I've been pretty lucky about avoiding spoilers. Although I didn't speak to my sister for over a week after she spoiled the end of The Order of the Phoenix for me and told me who died. We'd gone to the midnight opening to buy it, she stayed awake reading all night and I'd fallen asleep. Rookie mistake! I still have't quite forgiven her for that one.
Me for weeks after the incident |
7. Everything Has Changed
Pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.
Is it bad that I am struggling to think of a character for this one? I don't know, I feel like that's really bad. Oh well, I'm sticking to it. No one character is jumping out at me, so shame on them all.
Pick your most anticipated book release.
QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS. QUEEN OF SHADOWS.
Pick your favourite book couple.
As in one? Pfft, that feels impossible. I will always ship Ron and Hermione, forever and always. The same with Chaol and Celaena, I will legit cry if they don't end up together! Sephy and Callum from Noughts and Crosses. Tonks and Lupin!
10. Come Back, Be Here
Pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.
ALL OF THEM!
Charnell does not lend out books... ever! Not only because I don't have any bookworm friends who'd want to borrow them. But also because I'm OCD about them and would have to disown them if they came back in less than perfect condition.
11. Teardrops on my Guitar
Pick a book that made you cry a lot.
12. Shake It Off
A book you love so much you just shake off the haters.
This is for a book that you love, so you have to ignore all the people who hate it. I'm not sure what to pick for this one. It doesn't really ever bother me if I love a book and no one else does.
13. Stay Stay Stay
A book you wanted to go on forever.
Definitely All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, only because I knew the end would break me.
14. All Too Well
A book series you wish had been longer.
Harry Potter.

I always get far too emotionally involved in books, but I kind of love that.
Deletehaha i love it :D
ReplyDeleteSame feelings with Divergent ...love the first book, but the others u.u they are not the same
Same feelings too with Queen of Shadows, can't wait :D
QUEEN OF SHADOWS NEEDS TO BE IN MY HANDS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteOh I love it! All great choices!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteI'm not a massive lover of her, I like her don't get me wrong but I wouldn't say that I'm an all out fan. However I love a tag, I love the questions and my 4 year old is currently obsessed with Shake It Off, so it's sort of fate that I do this one ;).
ReplyDeleteLove you're answer by the way. I wouldn't forgive anyway either if they spoilt Harry Potter for me. One girl did spoil the ending to The Half Blood Prince but that was before I started really reading them so no love lost haha.
I did the tag because of the questions, but not because of TS. I don't actually know most of the songs mentioned, only the ones that have been played obsessively on the radio.
DeleteI know, I still haven't fully forgiven her for that one!
This was such a fun post! There are a few books up there I haven't read yet, but they do look good. This was a great idea, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteYAY THIS SOUNDS FUN. But aaaah YES. No lending books. I have a hard time lending to my sister. *glares at her bedroom across the hall* She not only leaves my books on the ground, she BENDS COVERS. *hyperventilates* And then she complains when I won't lend them to her. She can just go to the library. I'm still angry at her for creasing the cover of Paper Towns, although that's not nearly so bad as spoiling a death. SHAME ON SISTERS. ehhehe. (But I guess I would be more sad if she never read and I could never discuss books with her, so I shall complain softly.)
ReplyDeleteI hate lending books, it should not be allowed ever. OH NO! Me and your sister would definitely come to blows if she had ever done that to any of my books. I might have had to disown her. I think you should ;)
DeleteHad fun here today. It has been a while since Ive had a book in my hands that I wished would never end. I want one of those again.
ReplyDeleteI need more of those books in my life.
DeleteI love the idea of this tag and might even steal it and do it myself at some point! I would agree - I completely broke up with the Divergent series after Allegiant xD I also think that Sephy and Caleb were an amazing couple that I would ship. I am also all for Percabeth. I also really liked We Were Liars and can probably name the exact moment you cried :P
ReplyDeleteI hope you do it at some point, or if you have already then link me to it!!!! :)
DeleteI have to agree with you on Divergent! It'd definitely be my pick too. I really loved Divergent when I first read it and maybe Insurgent wasn't as good but at least it was decent, but Allegiant really ruined the trilogy for me. But, on the Chaol and Celaena thing..... I'm kind of team Dorian? At least for now, I'm only on book 1!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers :D
OH NO!!! Hopefully book 2 gets you on team Chaol ;)
DeleteGreat tag! I think I'm the only one who hasn't read the Divergent trilogy yet, oops!! It seems like everyone was disappointed with the last book :-( that makes me a little afraid to start them. But, I watched the Divergent film and loved it so I'd like to read the books before I watch the next 2 films. I'm not too bothered about other people hating a book that I love either - we all have different opinions :-D
ReplyDeleteLove your Instagram pics and the gifs for this tag :-D
I have to say that I would not recommend reading them. That third book is a killer.
DeleteThere are a few series that I feel I should never ever get back together with even though I'm a little tempted by The Hollows by Kim Harrison...I quit when I got tired of the Ivy attacks Rachel for 100th time plot in book two/three but I want to read the rest!
ReplyDeleteI hate when a series used the same plot over and over again.
